US President Donald Trump and Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell engaged in an ugly, public argument as the former visited the site of renovation of the Fed’s premises. Trump accused the central bank of having exceeded its renovation estimate by a huge amount, pegging the figure at $3.1 billion. Powell immediately interrupted Trump and claimed that the figure was incorrect. In response, the President pulled out a letter from his blazer’s pocket and showed it to Powell.
